LoganLetter #78 (May 2010)

The people had a mind to work

                                    Nehemiah 4:6

“Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart,

to work all manner of work”    Exodus 35:35

Work is an often despised and shunned four-letter word. In this day of apostasy, we not only see the degeneration of
the spiritual lives of God’s people but also the destruction of character as a whole.  The United States has always had interwoven in its fabric a good work ethic.  Of course this is no longer the case for the most part in our changing country.  However, by God’s grace and for His praise we report to you the hard work of two crews from the USA.  In twelve days these eight men of God labored from nothing to a now wonderful addition for our church in Brasov, Romania.  Only the few finishing touches of paint, tile, and a few other efforts of trim remain.  They worked twelve-hour days in the cold, rain, and then heat without all of the tools and materials that they normally are accustomed to.  What a joy it is to see men in the workplace leave their jobs at their own expense to come and do something for the glory of God and the blessing of His people!  All are acutely aware that this is the age of selfishness and “me-first”.  These men broke that mold and put the interests of Christ and others above money and their own comforts.  Glory to Jesus!  Why don’t you go break the mold as well and do some WORK for God that costs you something, from which you receive no remuneration.  These men from Capitol City Baptist in Texas and Spring City Baptist in Virginia did such a work of God with their hands.  We are in their debt!

NEW MINISTRY – THE PRISON MINISTRY

On the spiritual side, we rejoice over the new prison ministry that the
Lord has given us, and He is blessing!  At least 8 men have made
professions of faith in just a few weeks and some are even asking us
to reach out to their families on the outside.  One man begged us to
meet with his wife and tell her that he is now saved and is sorry for how he had sinfully treated her in the past.  Amen!  What a joy it is to see repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!  Pray that this ministry will continue to grow.  Our Father has given us favor with the government, the guards, and the prison authorities, who we also desire to come to salvation.  Men are only truly free through God’s redemption.  Oh how many are at leisure outside the walls of a prison but are in chains of darkness and oppression by the wicked one.   Let us knock holes in the darkness and labor to set men free wherever we find them.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free,

ye shall be free indeed.”  John 8:36
